Australian building designer Jon Carrucan has gone through the writings of Christopher Alexander, and my own work, and has synthesized practical design concepts for everyday application. Bringing his own unique perspective to this body of work helps greatly in understanding the underlying theory. This explanatory material promises to be a great aid to students, especially as dominant architectural education ignores my work, and that of Alexander, which is usually learned on one’s own time. Jon has kindly prepared his analytical essays for publication in Architexturez. I can only corroborate the depth of understanding that is contained in Jon’s essays. I wish prospective architecture students, and young architects the world over, happy reading! – Nikos Salingaros
