Human neurological responses to the built environment influence our health and wellbeing. A long-overdue experimental program will identify healing effects of our environment, focusing strictly upon the impact that different geometries have. An existing body of work predicts which special geometrical features influence our health in a positive way, and which degrade it. The evidence so far strongly supports this design framework, and the proposed experiments will add further needed validation. If implemented fully, this experimental program could spur a new, adaptive architecture offering unprecedented healing properties to users.
