However, its regularity is not essential or even good: rather, the layout needs to be adapted to the site boundaries in such a way as to generate coherently shaped courtyards and pedestrian space, while leaving building volumes simple. This transformation requires the use of ROUGHNESS, LOCAL SYMMETRIES, DEEP INTERLOCK, NOT SEPARATENESS, GOOD SHAPE and INNER CALM.

Application of these transformations achieves the necessary computation at this stage: it suggests buildings on either side of the promenade, forming the space of the promenade, with different shaped gardens on either side, filling the space as comfortably as possible.
